Strengthening the Involvement of People with Dementia Toolkit

This toolkit augments the section ‘Involving service users and their carers' in ‘Everybody's Business - a service development guide' (DH 2005).

You can download the Involvement Toolkit along with the Supplementary Resource which highlights areas of good practice in involving people with dementia in service planning, delivery and evaluation. We aim to add further useful documents in the Strengthening Involvement Resources section and would like to hear from you in the feedback section with further examples of positive practice. You can also discuss involvement issues with the team on The Meeting Place

"The toolkit builds on and strengthens the section

on Involving service users and their carers in

Everybody's Business. Most importantly, people

with dementia and their carers have been involved

in its development. Therefore, it provides a true

reflection of the skills and techniques people with

dementia believe are important for engagement

and involvement. It also demonstrates the

valuable contribution that people with dementia

can make."
